A TOOT FROM THE STUTE

NEWS FROM INSTITUTE
DECEMBER 2017
It’s been a great year for the Institute, bookings are up. The café and market are also doing well. Over a dozen improvements have been made to the building and fabric, some large, some small. We leave the old lady in a better state at the end of the year than she was at the beginning.
All the planned kitchen projects have now been completed and we have to thank Mick
Dainty ably assisted by Pat for fitting double-glazed units to the big back window. Well done guys.
Thanks to Jenny the stage is now looking very smart, she has spent many hours painting the new front and making fantastic crushed velvet long drop curtains.
The most interesting hire last month was an overnight stay by John and his Morris Men.
They danced their way round Mid Staffordshire, then came back to the Stute for a slap-up meal and just the odd glass of beer. We hope they all slept well.
The Pensioners Christmas Lunch is on Thursday the 14 th December 12.30 for 1pm. Places are limited to 50, this is a very popular event so book early to ensure a place. Contact Jenny on 01785824882
The Coffee Morning this month will have a Christmassy feel with Charles Butler teaching us how to sing and sign a few carols, the kids who go to ‘20 is Plenty’ love it so I’m sure we will too. We are now a little short staffed for this event. Is there anyone out there who could spare a couple for hours on a Thursday morning once a month to make and serve our wonderful fresh ground filter coffee?
Finally, we would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and thank you all for your support throughout 2017.
