May and June News

NEWS FROM INSTITUTE

MAY & JUNE 2018

The Chairman’s report at May`s A.G.M was very encouraging, informing the meeting of  a significant number of repairs refurbishments and projects that have been completed in the last financial year. The most significant being new windows in the kitchen. Future plans include upgrading the roof and central heating. Fred thanked all the officers, committee and friends of the stute for all their help and support.

The accounts showed that the finances are in good order. The reserves are only slightly down even though a number of improvements have been self-financed. Judy commented that day to day expenditure was being covered by income generated

Dawn outlined our new data protection policy and the committee thanked her and Phil for the work they had put into this project.

Irene is standing down this year,  her contribution will be missed, we would all like to thank her and wish her well. The rest of us are staying on for another year, so we must particularly thank Fred and the Officers for making this commitment.

Finally, we have to congratulate Josie Byford on completing the London Marathon in extremely hot and difficult conditions. She has raised over £5000 for Cancer Research.
