October News

A TOOT FROM THE STUTE

NEWS FROM CHURCH EATON VILLAGE INSTITUTE OCT 2018

We had a packed house for the Coffee Morning in September, fresh ground coffee, homemade cakes and good company seem to be a winning combination. The coffee is still being provided free of charge by Councillor Steven Leighton, who is a Director of Has Bean Coffee Ltd, so we have to thank him again for his generous support.

As you all know we are always looking for ways to improve the facilities at the Stute, so last month we purchased replacements for the old card tables, which were full of woodworm and falling to pieces. We are now assessing the rest of the furniture to see what else needs updating or replacing

At the last two markets we have been selling strawberries from Lower Ruele farm they were freshly picked on the day and tasted great, no wonder they sold out in no time. Good to see Irene back at the Institute with a stall selling homemade preserves and chutney.

The Flaky Tarts are back performing on Saturday 27th October. Doors open 7.30pm music starts at 8.00pm, there is no bar so bring your own booze and snacks. Pre-booked Tickets are £8.00 each phone Linda on 07854 718628 or email kirtley.linda@gmail.com  or £10.00 on the night.

Last but certainly not least, it is with great sadness we note the passing of Mick Beard. He was a good friend and supporter of the Stute over many years.  His performances in the village shows and pantomimes were legendary.
