January and February News

JAN/FEB 2018

Firstly, a belated Happy New Year to all the Institutes friends and supporters.

Just a few notes about Christmas which seems a long, long time ago now. Everybody had a fine old time at the pensioners lunch. Christmas was certainly merry that afternoon. Thank you to everyone who provided wine and puddings, special thanks to Jenny and the team who prepared cooked and served up the fabulous fare. We ran a hamper raffle on the run up to Christmas which raised nearly £400 for Institute funds thank you to every one who had a flutter and also to Pat and Fred our super sales force.

Live and Local are back on Friday the 9th of February with a performance by The FB Pocket Orchestra, they will be playing a mix of Blues, Jazz and Ragtime. As always, the Stute is bringing something different and interesting to entertain you. All the groups that come to us via Live and Local have been first class so we are certain it will be a good night. Just to help the evening go with a swing there will be a bar from 7pm with performance starting at 7.30 Tickets are available from Fred and Jenny on 01785 824882. Please tell your friends and buy tickets so that we can have another full house.

On Saturday the 17th there is a Charity Bash for Cancer Research with music by Dancefloor Deluxe. Josie Byford is running the London Marathon for this fantastic cause and hopes to raise over £2000. The event starts at 7.30pm and there will be a bar. The price is £10 which includes a light bite. Phone Josie on 01785 825985 for tickets.

More great events in March, a group called Sounds Familiar on Friday the 23rd playing hits from the Sixties and a Ladies Night on the 24th to raise funds for the school. Look out for additional information in next month’s mag, posters and Facebook
